The UWF is working with Bill Haley Sharpe Design to create a design that will showcase the area's historical and archeological assets. The project will restore 28 properties. The University of West Florida's CEO, Jerry Maygarden, says the plan will increase historical tourism numbers in the city. He adds that Pensacola will compete with historic cities like Savannah, Charleston, and Gettysburg in historical tourism.
